ClipForge AI ("we", "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account info: name, email, password hash, profile picture (if signed in with Google).
Uploaded content: videos you upload or YouTube URLs you submit, along with derived AI metadata (titles, captions, thumbnails).
Usage data: pages visited, features used, interaction events (anonymously via PostHog).
Payment data: only payment status and transaction IDs — full card data is held by Razorpay and never touches our servers.
Social tokens: if you connect YouTube/Instagram/etc, encrypted access tokens are stored to allow posting on your behalf.

2. How we use it

To provide and improve the Service.
To process payments and prevent fraud.
To communicate with you about features, security, and billing.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party processors

We share necessary data with the following processors (all under strict DPA):

OpenAI / Google Gemini / Anthropic — AI model inference
Razorpay — payment processing
MongoDB Atlas — encrypted data storage
PostHog — anonymous product analytics
Google / Meta / TikTok / X / LinkedIn — only if you choose to connect

4. Data retention

Uploaded videos are processed and the source file is purged from active storage within 30 days. Derived clips remain in your account until you delete them. Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after closure for legal/billing purposes.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion.
Withdraw consent and close your account at any time.
Export your data in a portable format (request via email).

6. Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard bcrypt hashing. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access tokens are encrypted at rest. We use principle-of-least-privilege access controls for our team.

7. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside India. We use standard contractual clauses and reputable cloud providers to ensure adequate protection.

9. Cookies

We use minimal cookies — only for session authentication and anonymous analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Changes

We'll notify you of material changes via email or an in-app banner before they take effect.
